The Walkmen – ‘Bows + Arrows’ (Record Collection)

You know what it’s like, you hear a single on the radio (track 2 ‘The Rat’) and think hmm that was quite good. The next thing you know, you’ve had a rubbish day at work, end up in the pub with a few colleagues, then stumble to try and catch the train. Missed it! Oh well, at least I can take a browse in the record shop (late night shopping has got a lot to answer for). Now generally when I’m a bit worse for wear I end up buying something terrible but this CD is an absolute gem! Imagine if Rod Stewart had fronted Joy Division or The Wedding Present and you’re close to the vibe of this CD. As you would expect from us, there’s bundle’s of passion here. Quite a raw dark sound but if you listen closely enough you can fully appreciate the intricate mesh of talent. A Great collection of songs.
